One afternoon, when Martha was driving home from her job as a Durham county school librarian, her car was struck by a large work truck. Even though the truck was speeding and the impact caused considerable damage to her car and even caused her seat to collapse, the insurance company for the work truck disputed responsibility for her injuries and refused to make a fair settlement offer.

In a nursing home only 38 days, Sandra's mother developed a bed sore the size of a volleyball. Sandra and her sister rented a special bed for $90 a day for their mother exhausting her life savings. When the money ran out, the facility replaced the bed with an air mattress. Because of the height of the air mattress, their mother rolled off of the mattress breaking her hip.

Lonnie was riding his motorcycle when an elderly lady crossed the center line and took off his left foot. She left the scene. As soon as Lonnie was stabilized, he contacted Martin & Jones, and we helped track down the defendant. We filed a lawsuit and determined that the insurance coverage was actually ten times more than what the insurance company told Lonnie was the maximum they could offer him.

A dump truck that was leaking clear hydraulic fluid was left parked in the exit lane of the Durham Freeway.  Robbie drove around the curve with no chance to see the dump truck until she was already on the hydraulic fluid spilled over the road.  She slid uncontrollably and collided into the dump truck.

Arturo's sister was a healthy 26-year-old expectant mom in 2002, and she and her husband were ecstatic when their healthy little boy was delivered.  Within a day, tragedy struck.  Due to a hospital medication error, his sister was left in a permanent coma.  As a result, her little boy never got to know his mother who needs constant care due to brain damage.
