Tyson Foods Found Violating Labor Laws
On Industry Week, it was reported that Tyson Foods, the poultry producer, was found in violation of the FLSA for failing to pay employees at an Alabama plant for activities required by the company.
The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama ruled that the company did not keep accurate records and failed to pay production line employees for the time they spent donning and doffing safety and sanitary gear, and for performing other related activities. These violations affect approximately 3,000 current and former workers at the plant.
