Medical mistakes are increasing and hospitals and doctors don't want patients to know about it.  I see this everyday in the dozens of phone calls Martin & Jones gets from patients who were injured by a mistake made by a doctor or a nurse.  But you don't have to take my word for it.  Many newspapers are reporting on medical malpractice studies published by well-respected institutions.  For example, a recent Hearst newspaper article describes studies from the Centers for Disease Control and the Institute of Medicine.  The most upsetting issue revealed by these studies is that a shadow of secrecy still surrounds medical malpractice. Most families of patients killed or injured as a result of a medical mistake will never know about the malpractice buried in the hospital records.
