Patrick joined Martin & Jones in 2007. He is a 1990 graduate of the University of North Carolina, where he was a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society. During summers following his freshman and sophomore years in college, Patrick worked as a staff assistant to the United States Senate Foreign Relations Committee, performing research and briefing staff members on Senate hearings.
While receiving his law degree at the Mercer University School of Law in Macon, Georgia, Patrick spent a year as a visiting student at New York Law School. Once he received his law degree in 1993, Patrick went on to practice entertainment law in New York City, focusing on the music industry. While in New York, Patrick expanded his practice and served as in house counsel for a liability insurer, doing all phases of medical malpractice and general liability defense work.
Patrick returned to North Carolina in 2001 and has focused his practice on the representation of people harmed by medical negligence as well as continuing to advise and counsel musicians.
Patrick lives in Raleigh with his wife and their two sons. Patrick is also a musician and songwriter.
