Medical Malpractice and Veterans
Veterans are not barred from pursuing lawsuits against the U.S. government for injuries. The Federal Tort Claims Act (FTCA) and Military Claims Act allow civilians to claim compensation from the U.S. government when damage is caused by the negligence of an employee or agency of the U.S. government (including Military and Veterans Administration). Therefore, veterans who have been victims of malpractice have legal remedies including lawsuits available to them.
