Former School Teacher Receives Confidential Settlement For Nursing Home Neglect

Sandra Outlaw spent her life as an educator. When diabetes began attacking her body, she lost both of her legs due to vascular problems caused by diabetes. Although her mind remained intact, Sandra needed assistance with turning and positioning in bed. When the nursing home refused to provide her with the care she needed, she developed an extensive pressure sore on her backside. Her sister contacted Martin & Jones. Martin & Jones filed suit against the nursing home. The nursing home claimed that it had turned and positioned Sandra. Sandra testified that was not the case. Two weeks before trial, the case settled for a confidential amount.
