How Do I Know if I Was Exposed to Asbestos?

So, how will you know where your exposure to asbestos occurred is a question that a lot of people ask. Some of our clients come to us and they know exactly where they were exposed, because they worked in an environment full of asbestos, for example, a shipyard or an industrial plant. Other clients don't know...they had been diagnosed with an asbestos disease, but they don't know where they were exposed. So, we examine all the possibilities. It could be that they were exposed on the job. It could be that they had what we call household exposure from a family member who worked with asbestos and brought the fibers home on their clothing. Another possibility is household products, home products, such as cosmetics. Even baby powder sometimes was contaminated with asbestos. It's our job to really work with you to figure it out, and we look at all the possibilities.
