Should I Give a Personal Injury Statement?

  Return to Videos

Many folks come to us after somebody from an insurance company has already contacted them. And one of the first questions I ask my clients is, "Do you remember giving a statement to anybody?" That's because the insurance company wants to lock you in immediately in a statement about what happened. You're thinking about the impact this has had on your life, you might be on medication, you might even be still in the hospital. Meanwhile, the insurance company is calling you trying to get you to make a statement when your mind is on other things. So my advice is always and has always been don't give a statement to anybody. Let your lawyer communicate for you.
